Is the name okay? I want it to be 'great joy' so 大 for great/big and 欣 for joy.. Is this correct? And does it sound awkward?

Technically it is correct as a name can mean many things. I have seen it around mostly as a male name, although you might see the occasional girl called 大欣. Some names I have seen are 王大欣,张大欣,孙大欣,and 静大欣.

I could not find a good name that sounds exactly the same as Arwen, but I found the name 亚玟 Yàwén. It is the official translation of Arwen the character from Lord of the Rings, but it is also a girl's name in China.

I'm not a native speaker but 瑾旻 seems fine as a given name. I've seen 旻瑾 which seems to be a bit more popular, but both are nice names.
Do you want a family name as well?
